My name is Debbie, and I’m a poet living in Houston, TX, with my husband and daughter. My writing blends lyrical, imagery-rich reflections with nature-inspired metaphors, exploring themes like healing, love, resilience, personal growth, all with a touch of whimsy. As a lover of classic poetry, romance, and fantasy, I enjoy bringing these elements into my writing. In addition to being a poet, I’m also a clinical social worker with nearly a decade of experience in mental health. I took a break from my career to focus on my daughter during her early years, and during that time, I rediscovered my passion for writing.

In February 2024, I published my debut poetry collection Desert Dreams, inspired by the high desert of my hometown, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and my love for cacti. When I’m not writing, I’m playing barbies with my daughter, reading a book, playing soccer, or drinking a cup of coffee. I strive to experience life with as much gratitude and love as possible, and hope my writing reflects that same sense of wonder and appreciation for each moment.
